PISA CITY OF ART

Pisa is one of the most beatiful towns of Tuscany. It's famous, not only for the Leaning Tower but also for some small artistic jewels as the Santa Maria della Spina's church, the Arsenali Medicei, in which are located the remains of the fifteen Roman boots, the Guelph Tower and the Piazza dei Cavalieri. You have not to miss: the Luminara, the Bridge's Game and the historical Regata of the ancient sea Republics in the Pisan June. You can enjoy walking on the ancient walls of the town and you have to visit San Zeno's church and San Francesco's church and the typical fruit and vegetable' market in Piazza delle Vettovaglie. We also recommend visiting visit Calci (7 km) and its famous charterhouse. Taking a train from Pisa in a few minutes you can reach Carrara and Lucca other historical towns. Lucca appears to be an ancient State-town with its small streets on which towered stone-towers and where you can see some squares of Roman churches. It's very interesting to visit San Martino's church, where you can see the grave of Ilaria del Carretto.
