THE PATRON SAINT
was established in 1810 by the parish priest of the parent church, Lorenzo Maria Scopazzo (1756-1826) who also founded the "San Lorenzo martyr academy" and wrote a biography of the saint ("Sizes of the glorious Levite martyr St. Lawrence archdeacon of Church, the loving protector of the city of Aidone ").
The pastor also wrote each year a sonnet devoted to the saint: the first verse of each sonnet reconnected to the last verse of the composition of the previous year.
The celebration of St. Lorenz's celebration on August 10 was celebrated until the 1930s in several days of the year.
