ITALIAN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY PARK BASED IN VENICE

VEGA, an acronym for the Venice City of Science and Technology, is an Italian science and technology park located in Venice. The Park is home to innovative and cutting-edge companies in the research and technological development activities, operating primarily in the areas of Green Economy [1] and ICT. VEGA is also working with the University Ca 'Foscari of Venice, IUAV, the production sectors of the area and other regional and national research centers. Since 2012, VEGA has set VEGAinCUBE, a business incubator certificate which houses 23 Start-Up.

VEGA Science and Technology Park was established in 1993 in Porto Marghera, an industrial area 5 km from Venice. The district where the park is located was formerly occupied by factories.

currently covers an area of 26 hectares and is home to 200 companies whose number of employees involved is around 2000 units. [4] The companies located in the Science Park are principally specialized in the fields of information and communication technologies (ICT), the green economy, environmental sustainability, cultural and design assets. VEGA also carries on the business incubation project began in 2012 with VEGAinCUBE, hosting 23 highly innovative start-ups that operate mainly in the ICT and the Green Economy. [3] To established companies, VEGA provides managerial and financial consulting services, support in finding project partners, research facilities and laboratories.

VEGA belongs to the Italian Community Association of Scientific Technological Parks (APSTI) and maintain cooperative relations with leading research organizations of the national territory and, with the credit institutions and universities, in particular with the University Ca 'Foscari Venice and IUAV.
