OPERA SEASON AT TEATRO VERDI IN 2013

It is filled with the most popular and beloved musical masterpieces the Opera Season signed by the artistic director Marcello Lippi, a season which also looks to the production of 900 and is enhanced by a small cycle of chamber performances scheduled in Room Titta Ruffo. Stand out so the inaugural Turandot (12 and 14 October), the three gifts for the bicentenary of the birth of Verdi's La Traviata (16 and 18 November), Nabucco (4:06 December) and Othello (15 and 17 February) and The Marriage of Figaro by Mozart (25 and 27 January). Two works chosen from among the scores of the second century Naples Millionaire! Nino Rota (23 and 24 March) and Falcone and Borsellino, the Sicilian composer Antonio Fortunato (6:07 April). Several big names in the cast, by Giovanna Casolla (Turandot) Stefano Lacolla (Calaf, Alfredo; Ishmael) by Dimitra Theodossiou (Abigail) to Carlo Guelfi (Iago), by Irina Dubrovskaja (Violetta) John Meoni (Nebuchadnezzar) and Simone Alaimo (in Falcone and Borsellino) to name a few. Confirmed the collaboration with the Orchestra della Toscana, return the Orchestra Arché, youth ranks which debuted last year, and the Orchestra of the Puccini Festival. The cycle of chamber works will be opened and closed by AuserMusici, the excellent ensemble in residence right in the Teatro Verdi that has gained a strong international reputation in room Titta Ruffo Ausermusici I propose my heart beats (November 6), a concert arias and music by Handel, Barsanti, Gasparini, Geminiani and Hasse and Pergolesi's La Serva Mistress combined with The Four Seasons by Vivaldi (March 21). The other shows the cycle will be two one-act plays of Pirandello composer Marco Bargagna, The Evacuation and Driving Licence (January 17), the play by Guido Barbieri and Sandro Cappelletto Farinelli. What delightful horror... castrated singer Farinelli (19 February) and the concert for the bicentennial of Verdi, which will be performed chamber arias, and Wagner, which will run some lieder (March 12). Complete the Season "Opera and Surroundings", a series of side events for the first time divided into two parts: "Opera" or appetizers-conversation on Saturday morning in the foyer to the presentation of the works on the program, and "Surroundings" a series of meetings of musical culture (book presentations, lecture-show presentations cd) in the late afternoon in room Titta Ruffo.
